The Fire and Emergency Services Section oversees all training—both basic and advanced—for career and volunteer firefighters, and communications officers in the state of Georgia. This section operates out of the main campus in Forsyth, Georgia and conducts training at offsite locations. Additionally, the National Fire Academy (NFA) has designated the Fire and Emergency Services Section to host and deliver national training programs, developed by NFA, to firefighters in Georgia.
Our team is dedicated to developing the abilities of Georgia’s firefighters and fire officers to deliver safe, effective and efficient emergency services to the communities they serve. The section offers a comprehensive array of training courses that address the professional development needs of Georgia Fire & EMS organizations from entry-level training through chief officer training. Many of the exceptional training classes we offer meet or exceed the National Fire Protection Association’s requirements for ProBoard Certification.
We strive to maintain state-of-the art training for the Georgia fire service community and continuously research the most effective training methods to ensure that we deliver the highest quality training to our customers. Our training offers an experiential approach to learning that provides our students with a balanced classroom environment of lectures, combined with the use of realistic scenarios, to better prepare responders for “real world” applications.
In addition, The National Fire Academy (NFA) has designated the Fire and Emergency Services Section to host and deliver NFA-developed training programs to firefighters in Georgia. This section also provides assistance and support to area communities during major events or challenging circumstances as they arise.
