The Georgia Public Safety Training Center delivers field training directly to qualifying local departments, bringing high-quality instruction straight to public safety agencies across Georgia. To meet the diverse operational needs of local personnel, GPSTC offers specialized field training across several key disciplines:
Fire and Emergency Services
GPSTC’s Fire and Emergency Services Section is dedicated to developing the abilities of Georgia’s Firefighters, Fire Officers, and Communication Officers to deliver safe, effective and efficient emergency services to the communities they serve. In an effort to best serve Georgia’s local fire and emergency communications agencies, we provides training at local departments provided that they meet certain requirements.
Crisis Response Training
The Crisis Response Training program equips first responders with essential knowledge, skills, and strategies for effectively responding to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises, emotional distress, or other crisis situations.
Critical Skill
Critical Skills offers Use of Force, Resiliency, and Tactical courses that prepare officers for the challenging physical, mental, and stressful requirements of the profession. Ranging from beginner to advanced, the practical, hands-on courses that this section delivers teach officers the importance of physical fitness, tactical soundness, mental awareness, and decision making in stressful environments to ensure a safe approach to the job.
