The Basic Law Enforcement Training Section conducts Georgia’s basic, state-mandated training for the law enforcement officers and jail officers. In addition to the main campus in Forsyth, the division operates several regional academies across the state.

The Law Enforcement Operations and Investigations Section provides advanced and specialized training for Georgia’s certified law enforcement officers in dozens of instructional areas including: investigations, forensics, traffic safety and enforcement, police operations, leadership, instructor training, vulnerable populations, and more.

The Critical Skills Training Section provides advanced and specialized training for Georgia’s certified law enforcement officers in firearms, tactical operations, driver training, use of force, defensive tactics, health and wellness, and resiliency.

The Fire and Emergency Services Section oversees all training—both basic and advanced—for career and volunteer firefighters, and communications officers in the state of Georgia. This section operates out of the main campus in Forsyth, Georgia and conducts training at offsite locations. Additionally, the National Fire Academy (NFA) has designated the Fire and Emergency Services Section to host and deliver national training programs, developed by NFA, to firefighters in Georgia.
