The University of West Georgia, in partnership with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, offers a first-of-its-kind program known as the Academic Law Enforcement Training Exchange (ALETE). This program is an opportunity for college students to earn up to 15 college credit hours by completing an intensive multiple week basic law enforcement training. Upon completion, students will be a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified officer, which is the basic qualification for anyone wanting to work in the law enforcement field.
