Current Courtroom PicAcademic classrooms

The GPSTC academic building houses dozens of tiered and flat classrooms of various seating capacities. All classrooms are outfitted with digital projection equipment for instructional use. Interview rooms are also available for small class sizes or one-on-one instruction. Wi-Fi is available in all classrooms.

Dispatcher/Communications lab

Our newly remodeled communications lab is outfitted with the most up-to-date technology found in 911 call centers throughout Georgia. The lab features six 3-position operator stations, which use computer aided dispatch (CAD) technology. Because the system allows trainers to simulate real-life scenarios,  emergency dispatch students learn how to effectively multi-task under the most stressful and extreme conditions.

Forensics lab

The GPSTC forensics training lab is a state-of-the-facility designed to allow public safety students to practice the forensic analysis of evidence. The lab is equipped with tools and chemicals for processing fingerprints and examining hair, fiber and other trace evidence; analyzing and identifying drugs and the components used to make synthetic drugs; and studying biological evidence found at crime scenes.

Intox lab

The GPSTC intox lab features 30 Intoxilyzer 9000 instruments used for conducting evidential breath tests on subjects suspected of DUI. Students who take classes in the Intox lab learn the fundamentals of using the Intoxilyzer 9000 devices and, depending on the type of training they pursue, may obtain permits to conduct breath tests using the Intoxilyzer 9000.

Mock courtroom

GPSTC’s mock courtroom provides a realistic setting for the legal proceedings that public safety officers encounter in their day-to-day operations. State and local prosecutors and their staff also find the mock courtroom useful for practical exercises and legal scenario-based training.
