The Crisis Response Training program equips first responders with essential knowledge, skills, and strategies for effectively responding to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises, emotional distress, or other crisis situations. Through a combination of interactive lectures and practical exercises, participants will learn to: identify various types of crises and their underlying factors; assess risk and implement appropriate safety protocols; master verbal and non-verbal de-escalation strategies; effectively communicate with individuals in heightened emotional states; navigate mental health resources and referral pathways; and enhance officer safety while promoting positive outcomes for individuals in crisis.
