shield_logo_dsIn an effort to continue Basic Law Enforcement Training in Northwest Georgia, GPSTC has entered into a partnership with Georgia Highlands College-Floyd Campus to open our newest regional academy – GPSTC Rome. Through Georgia Highlands generosity, this partnership will help GPSTC and the law enforcement community in Northwest Georgia. Ironically, this partnership brings the Police Academy full circle. Floyd Junior College was the home of the police academy in the 70’s and 80’s.

Registration is currently being accepted for the first course, scheduled to begin September 21, 2015 at GPSTC Rome. Agencies can register their students by using the online registration system at staging.gpstc.org.

Basic Police Officer Training
Candidates who wish to become law enforcement officers should carefully review the requirements for Becoming a Police Officer in Georgia. Upon completing all prerequisites, candidates may enroll in the 408-hour Basic Law Enforcement Training program at GPSTC Rome.

floyd_12Due to staffing limitations, classes at GPSTC Rome will be held on an as-needed basis. If you are interested in attending GPSTC Rome, please contact the Academy Manager, Chadd Wilson at (678)880-4847.
