Law enforcement agencies across the State may submit their Accident Reports to the State electronically through the Georgia Electronic Accident Reporting System- GEARS (https://gearsportal.com). As a benefit to contributing agencies, software is available which includes diagramming software- Easy Street Draw (www.trancite.com). There are other financial incentives for electronic submission. And, it assists the public as accident reports are available on-line at https://www.buycrash.com.
The GPSTC Georgia Police Academy has initiated training on the Easy Street Draw program as part of its On-Scene Traffic Accident Investigation Course. This gives participants a means to understand and use the diagramming software to complete scaled diagrams of traffic collisions involving serious injuries and fatalities. The Training Center understands that with the availability of technology, adopting the use of advanced methods in its curriculum is important in providing the best training possible for participants.
