The CDC has developed an interactive, web-based education tool for healthcare workers training in the proper donning and doffing of PPE. This presentation can be accessed at http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/hcp/ppe-training/index.html.

The user will begin by selecting the type of PPE to be worn, including the respirator (N95 or PAPR) and the type of body covering (gown or coverall). The user will be directed to a portal of resources that are specific to the PPE selected.  The training includes video and text to help reinforce each step of the donning (putting on) and doffing (removing) sequences.  Training for the trained observer, the person designated to guide the healthcare provider through the steps of putting on and removing PPE, is also provided.
