The Georgia Public Safety Training Center will be hosting multiple September and October offerings of the Family Violence First Responder course throughout the state. This course is aimed at patrol officers and supervisors providing them necessary skills to safely and successfully recognize and respond to potential acts of Family Violence. The three-day course covers the trauma informed response, civil remedies and enforcement of civil protection orders, and the essentials of developing a case file around evidence-based prosecution. Students will explore the Dynamics of Abuse, Victimology, Abuser Behavior, Misdemeanor and Felony Offenses, and Current Data on Family Violence Trends in Georgia.
