Personal Protective Measures for Biological Events

This one-day, eight-hour course includes an overview of bio-threat, demonstrations of proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment, and technical decontamination protocols. The course provides students with agility drills and practice skill sessions that include donning and doffing of PPE using the buddy system. This course will culminate with the students demonstrating the donning and doffing of PPE in a technical decontamination exercise that will include a self-assessment and instructor performance checklist with feedback.
Prerequisite: Highly recommended that the student be trained in Haz-Mat according to his or her discipline.
