GPSTC’s Forsyth campus is conveniently located in the middle of the state, which helps to keep travel costs down for local agencies. In addition to the main campus in Forsyth, candidates interested in becoming a police officer may attend GPSTC’s basic mandate law enforcement training at one of several regional academies located throughout the state. These regional academies also offer continuing education in the areas of RADAR/LIDAR, Supervision, DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Report Writing, and other select advanced courses.
Students who attend training at GPSTC have access to everything they need to complete their training experience. The Forsyth campus features a 248-room barracks, which includes 32 premium, single-occupancy rooms. GPSTC’s onsite cafeteria prepares three meals per day with stick-to-your-ribs meat-and-three options as well as fresh-to-order grilled items and a premium salad bar. Students also have access to a full gym and remodeled weight room, swimming pool (for classes only), game room, ATM, and laundry facilities.
