On Saturday, May 16, 2015, firefighters from across the state came together to honor their fallen brothers at the annual Georgia Firefighter Memorial Ceremony.

The honorees were:
Antonio Everett Jones – Augusta Fire Department – 2011
Willie James Lacy – Augusta Fire Department – 2004
Christ Swan – Lockheed Martin Fire Department – 2014

Chief Marvin Riggins of the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department gave the Memorial Address.

The Georgia Public Safety Bag Pipes and Drums group provided the music for the ceremony. Rodney Brooks (Henry County Fire Department) and Mark Ware (Sandy Springs Fire Department) sang the National Anthem.

Students from the Introduction to Color/Honor Guard class provided the presentation of colors, escorted the families, performed the ringing of the bell, read the 5-5-5 story and sounded the diminishing sirens.  The class started on Wednesday and the students’ final exam was the Memorial Ceremony.

President Robert Singletary and Chaplain Randy Toms of the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs and President Dean King and Chaplain Ronnie Cowart of the Georgia State Firefighters Association also participated in the ceremony.
