Criminal Investigations Section Manager Lee Croxton began his public safety career at the Houston County Sheriff’s Department as a jailor in 1997. In 1999, he accepted a position at the Warner Robins Police Department as a patrol officer. From 1999 to 2005, Croxton continued to serve the public, working first as a patrol officer, then as school resource officer, and finally as crime scene investigator.

Croxton joined GPSTC in 2005 as the Georgia Police Academy’s (GPA) primary forensic training program instructor. In addition to updating and delivering 15 forensic courses, Croxton was assigned as training coordinator to the Georgia Coroner’s Training Council. In that capacity, he developed and delivered training for approximately 400 Georgia coroners and deputy coroners.

In 2011, Croxton began assisting with the National DNA Training Initiative, sponsored by the University of Tennessee Law Enforcement Innovation Center (LEIC). He taught DNA evidence identification, collection, and preservation for law enforcement in many parts of the United States. In 2013, Croxton was recruited as an adjunct instructor at the National Forensic Academy, also sponsored by the University of Tennessee LEIC.

In 2013, Croxton was promoted to Criminal Investigations Section Manager. In this position, he is responsible for the development and delivery of training to officers enrolled in courses in GPA’s Criminal Investigations, Drug Enforcement, Forensics and Coroner’s Training sections.
