Jorge Roque joined the staff of the Georgia Fire Academy at GPSTC in 2011 as the Industrial Programs Coordinator and in 2014 became the National Fire Academy Program Coordinator.
Jorge Roque began his fire service career in South Florida with Tavernier Fire Rescue, a division of Monroe County Fire & Rescue Services in August 2002. He was hired as a volunteer recruit firefighter at Tavernier Station #22 upon completion of his firefighter training and EMT program. Jorge was fortunate enough to continue his career at the same station he started.
With a genuine thirst for knowledge and a strong desire for an increased level of responsibility, Jorge enrolled in as many specialized fire service courses as he could take. After he was promoted to driver-engineer, Jorge decided to pursue his love of training, and obtain his fire instructor certification. Jorge enrolled in instructor training course at World Wide Emergency Services Institute (WWESI) in 2008. While completing his instructor course, he built a strong relationship with WWESI owner Nick Coutsouvanos. He was soon recruited to join the WWESI team, where he served as an instructor and assisted in hazard mitigation and consulting thought Florida and the Caribbean.
Through research, he found the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) and relocated his family to Georgia where he joined the staff of the Georgia Fire Academy (GFA); where he serves as a Public Safety Training Instructor III and the National Fire Academy program coordinator.
