Georgia Police Academy
Jason Jones joined the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in 2013 after serving as a law enforcement officer for 15 years. Jones began his law Enforcement Career in 1998 as an Eatonton Police Officer. He later worked as a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff and as a Police Officer in Doraville, Georgia.
In 2006, Jones participated in a one year U.S. State Department contract training Iraqi National Police Officers in Baghdad, Iraq. In 2008 Jones began working as an agent at the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force located in Milledgeville Georgia. Jones performed duties as a narcotics investigator, departmental training officer, firearms instructor and armorer.
In March of 2016, Jones accepted the position as the training coordinator for the Georgia Coroners Training Council and forensics instructor for the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Instructor Jones is a state appointed member of the Georgia Coroner Training Council and is currently responsible for training all of Georgia coroners and deputy coroners.
