Forsyth, GA (August 25, 2014) – Georgia Public Safety Training Center Director Tim Bearden and Georgia Fire Academy Division Director David Wall today announced that firefighters from throughout the state will gather on the weekend of September 5 through 7, 2014 at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth for the 12th Annual Georgia State Firefighter Weekend. Over 200 pre-registered volunteers are signed up for the event, which is provided to help dedicated firefighters better prepare themselves and their neighborhoods when fighting fires.

“There are thousands of volunteer firefighters in Georgia who selflessly dedicate their time and services to protect their communities, and it’s imperative that they are provided with training in the newest techniques and also that they have access to refresher courses,” said Division Director Wall. “I commend the firefighters and instructors who are participating in this weekend’s training for their honorable service to the citizens of the Great State of Georgia.”

The 12th Annual Georgia State Firefighter Weekend begins on Friday, September 5 and continues through Sunday, September 7.
