Traffic Accident Reconstructionist Certification Testing
Effective July 1, 2012, POST approved the Traffic Accident Reconstruction Specialist Certification. Upon meeting the below requirements, an Officer will become eligible for testing. Testing for the certification will begin in September. Check back as dates will appear on the calendar as soon as they are available.
Traffic Accident Reconstruction Specialist
o Have at least three (3) years experience as a sworn law enforcement officer
o Have one year experience conducting traffic accident investigations
o Complete the following required courses:
1. On Scene Traffic Accident Investigation Level I (72 Hours)
2. On Scene Traffic Accident Investigation Level II (36 Hours)
3. Traffic Accident Reconstruction Level I (36 Hours)
4. Traffic Accident Reconstruction Level II (36 Hours)
5. Traffic Accident Reconstruction Level III (36 Hours)
6. Traffic Accident Reconstruction Level IV (36 Hours)
7. Traffic Accident Reconstruction Level V (36 Hours)
Total Training Hours Required for Certification = 288
