GA Fire Academy Advisory Council

The Georgia Board of Public Safety adopted a resolution creating the Georgia Fire Academy Advisory Council.   The purpose of the council is to advise the Director of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center with regard to the training needs of Georgia’s full time and volunteer firefighters as well as the course content and quality of training conducted.  The council consists of members, who are representatives from the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), the Georgia Municipal Association and the Insurance Services Office.  This council also includes the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council Director, the President of the Georgia Fire Chiefs Association or his designee, the President of the Georgia State Firefighters Association, the Chief of a Volunteer Fire Department, an EMS representative, and   Training Officers from a full time or volunteer fire department.  This council meets quarterly and also provides an annual report to the Board of Public Safety.  Members of the fire service wishing to contact any of these members can be assured that your comments will be passed along to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and the Georgia Fire Academy division.
