This is an introductory course designed to prepare the student to conduct crisis negotiations in hostage, barricaded suspect situations, correctional, cult or terrorist situations. It consists of the principles of negotiation, applied psychology, group dynamics, terrorist and group operations, case studies, and simulated crisis negotiations.
The applicant must have a minimum of two (2) years experience, be currently employed full-time by a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency and will be used as a hostage negotiator.
2. The applicant must be employed by a local, state, or federal governmental agency and assigned to hostage negotiations.
Role play activities are in the mock village. Have appropriate clothing and rain gear. Students should download or print the student manual and have it available for class on the first day.
Have your Agency Training Officer register you online; or complete a Student Authorization Form and return by fax or mail.
