Who Should Attend: Company Officers or those on the career path of becoming a Company Officer.
Prerequisite: Letter of recommendation from Fire Chief or Training Officer with application. Preferred students will be Company Officers or those close to being promoted.
Pro Board Certification Note: To obtain National Professional Qualifications Fire Officer II certification, the student must have completed the requirements for Fire Officer I which includes National Professional Qualifications Instructor I. Fire Academy staff will sign prerequisite forms for Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training for Fire Officer II when the following has occurred: Completion of National Professional Qualifications Fire Officer I and successful completion of Fire Department Management.
The students will be introduced to the job requirements of a Company Officer for Fire and Emergency Services. Topics include governmental theory, human resource management, administrative functions, policy/procedures, fire prevention, risk management, information management, firefighter near miss case studies, incident operations, and post incident analysis.
