Who Should Attend: Students must be a Georgia P.O.S.T. certified peace officer or Georgia Fire Standards and Training certified as a state fire investigator.
Prerequisite: Students must submit an agency letter with student authorization stating they are assigned to conduct criminal investigations.
This course is designed for personnel who conduct criminal investigations.
Topics include; Physical Evidence, Crime Lab, Legal Aspects, Report Writing, Interviews & Interrogations, Sex Crimes, Crimes Against Children, and the Trial Process.
Special Notes: TEXTBOOK: Criminal Investigations, 10th ed. (2009) Swanson, Chamelin, Territo, Taylor provided for use in class. Suggest students purchase textbook prior to attending courses.
If you have completed the Criminal Investigations 80 hour course you do not need to take this course.
